Why a review QR code works better than asking
Most satisfied customers mean to leave a review and then forget. Asking them to open Google Maps, search for your name, find the right branch and scroll to the review button loses most of them along the way.
A QR code removes every one of those steps. One scan opens the review form for your exact location, with the stars ready to tap. For businesses with several branches, it also stops reviews landing on the wrong one.
Step 1: Get your Google review link
- Sign in with the Google account that manages your Business Profile.
- Search for your business name on Google, or open your profile in the Google Maps app.
- Look for the "Ask for reviews" or "Get more reviews" button. Google renames it from time to time, but it's always near the reviews area of your profile.
- Copy the link it gives you. It usually looks like g.page/r/ followed by a code and /review.
- Open the link in a private browser window to check that it opens the review form for the right business.
If you run several branches, each one has its own profile and its own review link. A clinic group in Jeddah with three locations needs three links and three codes, not one.
Step 2: Put the link in a dynamic Google review QR code
In QRaft, create a Website link code, paste your review link, and keep it dynamic. A dynamic code stores a short link such as qr.linkom.app/AB3DE9K that points to your review form.
That matters because review links can change. You may merge two profiles, move to a new address or rename the business. With a dynamic code you edit the destination, and every printed sign, receipt and sticker keeps working. You can also pause the code if you ever need to.
Design the code with your own logo and colors, add a frame with a short call to action, and check the scannability score before you download. Use SVG or the print-ready PDF for print.
What to write on your review sign
The text around the code matters as much as the code. Keep it short, polite and neutral. Ask for an honest review, not a good one.
- "Enjoyed your visit? Share your review on Google."
- "Your opinion helps others find us. Scan to review."
- "How did we do? Tell us on Google."
- For a bilingual sign, add an Arabic line such as "شاركنا رأيك على جوجل".
Avoid wording like "Leave us a 5-star review". It reads as pressure, and asking for a specific rating goes against the spirit of Google's rules.
Where and when to place your Google review QR code
Timing is everything. Put the code where customers are at the end of a good experience, not at the start.
| Business | Best spot | Code size |
|---|---|---|
| Café or restaurant | Table tent next to the bill, or on the receipt | 4–5 cm on tables, 2.5–3 cm on receipts |
| Clinic or salon | Reception counter, at checkout | 5–6 cm on a counter stand |
| Shop | Next to the card terminal, on the bag | 4–5 cm |
| Delivery or e-commerce | A thank-you card in the package | 3–4 cm |
| Hotel | Room card or checkout desk | 4–5 cm |
Staff can help, too. A simple "If you have a minute, we'd love your review on the way out" while pointing to the stand at the till works better than any poster on a far wall.
Collect private feedback with a separate QRaft code
Some customers would rather talk to you than post in public. For them, QRaft has a Feedback code: a hosted page with 1 to 5 stars, a comment box and optional contact details. You see the average rating and every answer in your dashboard.
Use it for internal improvement, for example a "Tell the manager" card in a clinic waiting room or on a hotel desk. Keep it separate from your Google review code. QRaft does not sort customers by their rating or send only happy ones to Google, and your review request should stay open to everyone.
Follow Google's review rules
Google removes reviews, and can restrict profiles, that break its policies. These are the mistakes businesses make most often:
- Offering anything in return for a review: a discount, a free coffee, an entry into a draw.
- Asking only happy customers for reviews and steering unhappy ones elsewhere.
- Asking staff, friends or family to review the business.
- Writing a review for a customer on your own tablet or phone.
Reply to every review, good or bad, within a few days. Future customers read the replies, and a calm, helpful reply to a complaint often wins more trust than a five-star review.
Measure which placement brings scans
Because the code is dynamic, every scan is counted: scans per day, unique visitors, devices, and a comparison with the previous period. Create one code for the tables and one for receipts, then compare them after a month. The Free plan includes 3 dynamic codes, which covers a first test.
Compare the scans with the number of new reviews on your profile. If many people scan but few review, the form is fine and the timing is wrong. If few people scan, move the code or make the sign clearer. Milestone emails at 100, 1,000 and 10,000 scans let you know when a placement takes off.
Questions
Can I make a Google review QR code for free?+
Yes. Copy your review link from your Google Business Profile and put it in a QR code. On QRaft's Free plan you get 3 dynamic codes, so you can still edit the link after printing.
Can the QR code send only happy customers to Google?+
No. QRaft doesn't route customers by rating, and Google's policies discourage asking only satisfied customers for reviews. Keep your review request open to everyone.
Can I offer a discount in return for a Google review?+
No. Google does not allow incentives for reviews, including discounts, gifts or prize draws. Ask for an honest review and make it easy to leave.
What if my Google review link changes?+
If the code is dynamic, edit its destination and paste the new link. Every printed code keeps working with the new link.
